Re: Running VLC

I've installed it from newest precompiled packages on official ftp that were available about month ago. System is netbsd current 9.99.80 at this moment

I installed with pkgsrc about a week ago.
I had to uninstall then re-install  several packages because an older
ver was already present. I also noticed that it compiled and updated
PERL -- why? That messed up pTk -- which required me to reinstall
pTk.

How do I check if a required package failed to update?

"I'm running vlc (on current), installed from packages, ..."

by "current" do you mean 'pkgsrc-current" ? I am
running the last release of pkgsrc from 2020
I think it came out in  in early Feb 2021.
