There is a crude exception, you can use the raw partition of the raid
to get the whole volume. In this case you are not limited to 2TB.

Another method is to put the raw raid partition under LVM control.
LVM logical volumes aren't limited to 2TB either. This is currently
my preferred method, but it won't help with the bootloader problem
either.
