No, I had not. Lenovo's site is confusing and there were differnt BIOS revision depending if you installed with floppy, from windows or others. Confusing! I just updated (not an easy task if you don't have Windows, don't have a floppy and your battery is dead... ).

Anyway, the update does not fix the problem: when the computer goes to sleep the computer backlight remains on (although the screen is black). There are however less errors in the dmesg, which is positive. I see only two menacious logs: ACPI Exception: AE_NOT_FOUND, While evaluating Sleep State [\_S1_] (20131218/hwxface-646) ACPI Exception: AE_NOT_FOUND, While evaluating Sleep State [\_S2_] (20131218/hwxface-646)
