I updated to 6.1.3 and even with the stock kernel... and an older emacs (reinstalled) it crashed.
What do you mean by "reinstalled" - you are aware of the fact that with a new OS-/Userland-version, you need to rebuild all packages that have been installed from pkgsrc? (NetBSD - stock userland should have been properly upgraded by the upgrade-procedure itself).
If you don't update the PKG_PATH (I suggest setting it using uname for the proper OS-version), and update all packages, or rebuild and re-install them from pkgsrc (moving /usr/pkg and /var/db/pkg* out of the way completely, first), you -will- encounter the weirdest problems.
