It doesn't really matter - the difference is just in what you think of
the appearance - I often use 75dpi fonts on an approx 100dpi display, to
get smaller characters that are still readable (reducing the font size
often gets ugly glyphs for some characters  - these are all the older bit
mapped fonts where everything has been hand drawn at every size).

This stuff seems to largely all depend upon taste, and trial and error
(and none of this reply has anything to do with font selection for printed
files...)
