Well, I have just written and committed wip/deforaos-desktop, which is a 
meta package for the desktop environment.

About moving into main pkgsrc, I am optimistically hoping someone will 
find it good enough to do it for me. I would love to see it there of 
course :)

Yes, and as a matter of fact I even have the hardware. I am no longer 
using it, but when I did I used the environment on OpenBSD/zaurus for a 
while. I am curious to see how it well it would fare with NetBSD as a 
base.

What I would *really* like is to run the environment on a Nokia N900, 
which is already partially supported by NetBSD. With a little more time...
