SCIM on NetBSD with native X11?

I am trying to use SCIM input method on NetBSD.

Firstly, does it necessarily require X11 modular? I am using X11 native.

If I launch scim-setup it crashes with following message:

[1]   Segmentation fault (core dumped) ${exec_prefix}/l...

Any specific ways scim is to be set up?
