wine startup problems

Hi,

a new package of wine is there, so I tried my luck again. Compiled and 
installed.
Does it work for some of you? Here even its own application like winecfg 
or winefile never come up.

Starting winefile for example, yields a 99% cpu usage for minutes, then 
an error and them mysteriously the process is forked in two:
