Is it SMP? I was booting using -a recently and found keyboard input
veeerrrrryyyyy slllloooowwww
on my SMP box, this was when entering the root fs details, If I booted
using 'boot -1a' (to boot without ACPI and SMP) this went away.
It's prob a red herring, but worth a go I suppose.
