Re: Installing packages: some do, some don't

Hello,

If you're installing a package that has a large number of dependencies, pkg_add can take a long time. You might want to try running pkg_add with the -v option to see if that is what's happening.

Hi,

Now I can install packages by pkg_add, but for some reason some install
and some apparently don't. For instance:

pkg_add -v odt2txt

installs quickly. But e.g. with firefox, gimp, octave, evince it's just
waiting and seemingly doing nothing. Any idea why?

Thanks.
