I found a different AT command for this: AT^U2DIAG=256

And apparently, it worked - when I plugged the modem into my NetBSD 5.1
system, the modem was picked up by uhmodem and ucom0...ucom2 were
found.

Unfortunately, immediately after this, the system paniced (ape copied):

uvm_fault(0xc0b7c800, 0, 1) -> 0xe
fatal page fault in supervisor mode
trap type 6 code 0 eip c0767c51 cs 8 eflags 10282 cr2 5 ilevel 0
kernel: supervisor trap page fault, code=0
Stopped in pid 0.62 (system) at netbsd:usbd_attachinterfaces+0x131: mov
0
x5(%eax),%eax

At this point, my USB keyboard was dead, so I couldn't do anything else but
hit the reset button.

I also plugged the modem to my NetBSD 4.0/ARM box, but all I got was
uhub0: device problem, disabling port 2

I bought an A-Link WNAP 3G Mobile Router for the modem and it appears to
work, but I can't disable NAT (or make it a brigde) an I'd rather skip the
extra box if possible..
