Hi,

There is a pkgsrc WIP package for a NetBSD native Sun JDK 1.6, however
it doesn't appear to install the browser plugin. In pkgsrc proper,
there are separate packages for both the Linux JRE and JDK for version
1.6. I haven't used these in some time as I prefer the native package,
and I can't remember if the browser plugin is installed or usable.

Have you considered running your Java applets as applications via
Webstart? This is my preferred approach for distributing Java
applications, as it allows much greater control over layout of
graphical interfaces than an applet (which is constrained by the
browser window. I deploy Java applications to a number of operating
systems using Webstart, and it works flawlessly.
