Yes. I guess it is a common configuration to have /dev as part of the
root file system.

I have two more systems running with WAPBL. One is a Soekris router,
running from CompactFlash with /dev in RAM. And the other one is a
desktop, which doesn't run 24h. So the server is certainly most likely
to show any problems.

Would it be recommended to generally mount /dev on a RAM filesystem?
The only problem I can see is that MAKEDEV doesn't create all device
nodes.
