dovecot/pam_ldap file descriptor leak ?

Hi,
I've been looking at a user's problem here: the dovecot-auth
process quickly runs out of file descriptors. A fstat shows the process
holds a lot of tcp sockets, but only a few of them are connected.
I suspect the pam_ldap module is not properly closing the socket when
the connection to the server is closed. He's running:
dovecot-1.0.13 (I think)
openldap-client-2.4.11
pam-ldap-184nb1

on a NetBSD 3.1 system.
Has anybody already seen that ? Any idea to fix this ?
