>Description:
I need a laptop (amd64) for running a modern web browser and xterm windows for vps remote admin. previously ran OpenBSD 7.8 flawlessly. needed to switch to another os due to hardware support issue. figured netbsd is similar. Specific issue: terminal config local and over ssh is not 2026 standard by default. i should not need to remap keys just start working.
>How-To-Repeat:
try logging into a debian 12 server from netbsd and using select paste in a tui. openbsd handles it. netbsd does not.
>Fix:
Maybe get alternative hardware and return to openbsd that knows how to handle terminal config seemlessly local and remote.
