10.99.9 amd64 panic



Buidling mail/thunderbird appears to be causing trouble on this system; I got three times in a row the first line below, caused by ld filling all the available 16GB of memory and 8GB swap, the panic happened at the time of the last occasion, and has happened previously - there is a 2.5GB/s Realtek network adapter in use:

There was some discussion about Thunderbird requiring a lot of resource; the last version I built was from the 3rd of September, 115.1.1, I didn't have any problems then.
