Only mildly, I can see your point.   My reply was sent before I

Don't bet on it.  Some of us are inherently lazy beasts...
(I, even now, use phone calls to talk within the house,
could easily just walk and talk, but that's work!)

But that wasn't mbone, which as you have said, was one
particular overlay network (almost a vpn, but only for
multicast).  I wonder if the nasa satellite images are
still being broadcast?  Anyone know?
