nm output looks different for mpd:

# nm /usr/pkg/bin/mpd | grep _ZSt17rethrow_exceptionNSt15__exception_ptr13exception_ptrE
                 U _ZSt17rethrow_exceptionNSt15__exception_ptr13exception_ptrE@@CXXABI_1.3.3

perhaps the CXXABI suffix is the issue?
