I've got a Gateway SX2185 that I'm trying to get running NetBSD. It's mostly
working, but I've got two remaining issues:
1. The on-board Ethernet (RealTek 8168/8111) seems to have a problem
receiving packets. When I run dhcpcd it reports a "truncated packet"
and never successfully leases an IP address. I can "fix" this
fairly simply by buying an add-on NIC.
2. The on-board i2c controller is not being configured. The dmesg
reports
vendor 1022 product 780b (SMBus serial bus, revision 0x3a) at pci0
dev 20 function 0 not configured
According to pcidatabase.com this is an AMD chip 2128103C, and our
src/sys/dev/pci/pcidevs shows it as a "Hudson SMBus Controller". I can't
seem to find any data-sheet on this, so I have no idea if it is even close to
any of our currently-supported chips.
Interestingly, many of the other on-board devices on this machine are also
"HUDSON" devices, including ahcisata, [xeo]hci USB controllers, and the first
pcib0, all of which are properly configured.
So, does anyone know if the SMBus controller in this HUDSON chip is
supported? Or if it would be "close" to something we already support?
Thanks in advance!
