The problem with truetype fonts seems to be fixed indeed. I tried it a
few times.

The X server still leaves a core dump when you quit the initial login
shell with ^D.
Interestingly, the xkbcomp messages seem invisible on the screen but
script caught them somehow.

Is it normal that glxinfo only works fully when run as root?
If run as a normal user it complains about not being able to open some
things, and ends with a core dump.
