Re: i810e vs auxiliary video cards--VT switch but no graphics

Might be related, but maybe not...

I've got several of my machines updated from 6.99.24 to 6.99.25 with 
in-tree Xorg.  They all have various Radeon video cards, and all but one 
of them works fine.

The one that fails has a Radeon HD3450. The Xserver starts and switches 
mode, and then resets and exits.  Nothing interesting in the 
/var/log/Xorg.0.log file.   And the same symptoms occur whether I use 
the Radeon driver or force it to vesa.

At least this leaves me with a useable console...

FWIW, the machines that are working have Radeon "HD4250", "HD4350", or 
"RV370 X300 SE".
