ld(1) does that in netbsd-current whenever the no-copy-dt-needed thing hits
and it ends up with an unresolved symbol due to it, even with the test program
I posted:

ld: /var/tmp//ccOqgMJW.o: undefined reference to symbol 'termname'
ld: note: 'termname' is defined in DSO /usr/lib/ so try adding
it to the linker command line
/usr/lib/ could not read symbols: Invalid operation

The last line is highly misguiding. With -lterminfo added to the command line,
it goes away (so /usr/lib/ is fine).
