A radeon 5xxx card will be a dumb frame buffer on NetBSD, you won't
get any hardware acceleration. You would be better IMHO looking for a
4xxx card on eBay.

The driver versions in base X have been chosen to be the latest that
will work with the DRI code in NetBSD, making modular X use later
versions isn't very helpful.
