I tried:
- deleting my /etc/X11/xorg.conf
- backing out the most recent changes to
xf86-input-keyboard/dist/src/{bsd_,}kbd.c followed by
sh build.sh -E build with MKUPDATE=yes
Neither changed anything.
Following John Baker's post - sure enough killing the X server makes
virtual terminals work again.
My laptop uses the intel i810 driver, and
[ 200.942] (--) Using wscons driver on /dev/ttyE7 in pcvt compatibility mode
(version 3.32)
I'm not sure what you look for in Xorg.0.log for this, as X does work once.
