Re: About that horrible polluting mDNS stuff?

Done!

However i'm not complaining about "a debug only message" i'm complaining about the fact that daemons are trying to update a naming-service (mDNS) that is a really bad idea outside of home-networks:

1. Admins of networks (large ore secured) usually wants to have control over the resources on said networks and especially so over the naming services used. 2. Large networks tend to have linux boxes and mac's on them which will happyly run hard to disable zero-conf aplications including resolvers on each and every machine, why would NetBSD to add to the problems created?
3. Conflicting mDNS providers will cause havoc on large networks....

So i'm still asking about a way to disable anything and everything related to mDNS on a machine running NetBSD.

Yes, this should be a debug only message. Please file a change-request PR.

Thanks,
