problem with Xorg after kernel update: _XSERVTransSocketINETAccept: accept() failed

Hi,

I just updated the kernel and userland from -amd64 5.99.30 to 5.99.36
using sources from 2hrs ago or so.  Xorg has become quite unresponsive
after the update, and the tail of my Xorg log file now consists of an
alternation of the lines

_XSERVTransSocketINETAccept: accept() failed
_XSERVTransSocketUNIXAccept: accept() failed

ad infinitum (this is with modular-xorg-server-1.6.5nb6 from pkgsrc).
Any idea what's going wrong?
