This sounds wrong. Make sure the modules that come with the system
are installed properly, and all should go well.
Either unpack modules.tgz set so you get modules matching your
kernel in /stand, or run "make install USETOOLS=no DESTDIR=/" in src/
sys/modules.
I did a build.sh release, and then I manually installed the
modules.tgz set, ran installboot to get the new bootstrap installed,
and placed the new GENERIC kernel on the machine. That's how I got
where I am.
That should meet what you indicate above, right?
