Perhaps, depending on the hash algorithm.   :-)

Still, this again is something that is more applicable to distributed
version control tools such as Git.  The "hack" of these tools is to also
(ab)use the hash string as a version identifier -- perhaps because their
designers have failed to appreciate that "version identifiers" are used
by both humans and machines, but hash strings are not human friendly.
