PHYSMEM_MAX_ADDR vs crash dump
I was a bit surprised earlier today... One of my machines crashed, and
it wrote a dump file. However, even though this machine's kernel is
configured with
options PHYSMEM_MAX_ADDR=4096
the crash dump contained a full 8GB of memory!
Is this expected?
