Re: Very slow response for `eject cd0' command

Hi,

I do see the problem on at least 3 of my amd64 machines where `eject
cd0' takes about 4 min to succeed ... Result does not change if there
is a disk in the drive.

[...NO DISK...]
root@lanfeust [~]# time eject cd0
eject cd0  0.00s user 0.00s system 0% cpu 4:01.71 total
[...INSERT DISK...]
root@lanfeust [~]# time eject cd0
eject cd0  0.00s user 0.00s system 0% cpu 4:04.66 total

I'm running 5.99.15 amd64 kernel and userland, both built from sources that were current as of 2009-07-19 14:09:23 UTC. A quick test here shows no noticeable delay:

{895} time eject cd0
0.000u 0.002s 0:01.79 0.0%      0+0k 0+0io 0pf+0w
{896} time eject cd0
0.001u 0.001s 0:01.78 0.0%      0+0k 0+0io 0pf+0w
{897}

I will confirm that, just as Iain reported, I get the following logged on the console for each eject:

cd0(viaide1:0:1): not ready, data = 00 00 00 00 3a 00 00 00 00 00
