vi: /dev/pts/2: No such file or directory

When I run vi on a file on 5.99.15/amd64, there's a short flashing
text message on the screen before it opens the buffer.

I've just used screen to capture it, it says:
Error: /dev/pts/2: No such file or directory

It's not fatal or anything, sometimes I don't even notice it, however,
I wonder what the error here is...
