HP Compaq nc2400 wireless (wpi)



Has anyone had any luck getting wireless (wpi) to work on the above
mentioned laptop? I was able to get the device recognized by settings the
options PCI_ADDR_FIXUP, PCI_BUS_FIXUP, PIC_INTR_FIXUP but can not get the
device into a running state. Trying to do a ifconfig wpi0 up yeilds:

wpi0: could not lock memory (repeated many times)

followed by other errors such as:

wpi0: could not read firmware file
wpi0: could not load firmware

I have installed /usr/pkgsrc/sysutils/wpi-firmware2, pushed the radio
transmitter button twice if not 10x, disabled acpi during boot, tried to
mess with bios etc all to no avail.

Ftw OpenBSD can't power up the device, FreeBSD kernel panics on boot when
trying to load modules related to if_wpi.  Linux works - so I know the
hardware is ok.  Any help/things to try would be greatly appreciated. I
also just went back to NetBSD4 to try GENERIC_LAPTOP, same issue.
