Try compiling dspam with PKG_OPTIONS.dspam = dspam-verbose-debug and see
if there's anything in the log files that points to a hint.

Also, what DB back end are you using ?
Well, it's totally default, with PKG_OPTIONS.dspam set to "clamav
syslog". My mail volume is fairly low (100-150 messages per day), so
using a database is more trouble than it's worth. :)
