It's increasingly common that modern Ethernet controller chips
have built-in multi-speed PHY inside.   Some of smart designs
have dedicated registers to manipulate PHY directly for simplicity
and ease of SW writers.  This means mii(4) intermediate layer
binding is getting obsolute for the cases.
