I see a similar problem, while x-building on i386 for amd64, with  
source of just now:

cleandir ===> compat/gnu/lib/libstdc++-v3_4/include
nbmake: nbmake: don't know how to make clean. Stop
--- cleandir-include ---
*** [cleandir-include] Error code 2
1 error
nbmake: stopped in /u1/netbsd-current/src/compat/gnu/lib/libstdc++-v3_4
