I didn't even notice that wasn't the right size.  That probably helps
explain things.  Now what's the next step?

I'd recommend PRing this, so it gets tracked.  Unfortunately, I can't
give you any insight into the problem beyond the fact that these kinds
of devices seem to require various ways of correctly determining what
their capacity is, depending on the manufacturer/model in question.

Can you get any details about the device from another OS?  That might
help someone to narrow things down.
