I'm seeing GENERIC kernels spin on boot part way through autoconfig. Both revivesa and 20080622 daily build GENERIC kernels do the same thing. Here's a hand-copied log: ... isa0 at pcib0 pckbc0 at isa0 port 0x60-0x64 pckbd0 at pckbc0 (kbd slot) pckbc0: using irq 1 for kbd slot wskbd0 at pckbd0: console keyboard, using wsdisplay0 pms0 at pckbc0 (aux slot) pckbc0: using irq 12 for aux slot wsmouse at pms0 mux 0 attimer at isa0 port 0x40-0x43: AT Timer sb0 at isa0 port 0x220-0x237 irq 5 drq 1, 5: dsp v4.05 audio0 at sb0: full duplex, mmap, independent midi0 at sb0: SB MIDI UART (CPU-intensive output) opl at sb0 not configured pcppi0 at isa port 0x61 midi1 at pcppi0: PC speaker (COU-intensive output) sysbeep0 at pcppi0 isapnp0 at isa0 port 0x279: ISA Plug 'n Play device support npx0 at isa0 port 0xf0-0xff fdc0 at isa0 port 0x3f0-0x3f7 irq6 drq 2 attimer0: attached to pcppi0 then parallels starts spinning at 100% CPU. It keeps going (I've let it go for about a minute), and starts the fans going. Thoughts? It looks to me like attimer0 is attaching twice, which sounds wrong. :-) Take care, Bill
