My transparent proxy has recently died (bareley serves www, but still 
does), see thread "apache22 forward/reverse proxy on current".

Connecting to the proxy directly and going to google works but as soon 
as the query string exceeds a certain length the connection dies (same 
result as transparent).

I have a bge. I'll update now and see what the go is.
