nfs crash recovery

On Saturday night the main department file server tipped over. Sunday
morning when it came back, not everything that was hung waiting for it
unstuck, and I had this:

32170  6905   602  477  85  0 62176 71332 nfsrcv   Dl   ttyp2  162:39.34 /usr/p
32170   525 29649    0  85  0   752  1028 nfsrcv   I+   ttyq3    0:00.01 /usr/b
32170  7722 24860    0  85  0   536   444 nfsrcv   D+   ttyq3    0:00.30 vmake
32170  9326   917    0  85  0   444   364 nfsrcv   D+   ttyq3    0:00.30 vmake

plus another dozen assorted processes sitting in tstile.

Killing the process in I+ state caused it all to clear through;
however, this shouldn't have been necessary.

(Also, because it was a soft,intr mount, it shouldn't have happened at
all, nor ideally should anything one might want to *intr* be hanging
in D state...)

This was on a 4.99.54 from 2/29 so it may not be of much immediate
interest, but on the other hand it may be, so...

Anyone else seen problems?
