long delay during boot
A -current kernel from yesterday's sources exhibits a long delay during
boot.
Here's an extract from my dmesg:
NetBSD 4.99.64 (APB) #1: Tue Jun 3 09:46:49 UTC 2008
[... the first part goes quickly]
atapibus0 at atabus1: 2 targets
cd0 at atapibus0 drive 0: <PIONEER DVDRW DVR-K16, FEDL285215WL, 1.15> cdrom
removable
rnd: cd0 attached as an entropy source (collecting and estimating)
cd0: 32-bit data port
cd0: drive supports PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2
cd0(piixide0:1:0): using PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2 (using DMA)
[long delay here, perhaps 60 seconds]
[I closed and opened the laptop lid during the delay]
acpilid0: lid closed.
acpilid0: lid opened.
uhub4: device problem, disabling port 1
[... the rest goes quickly]
A more normal boot with an older kernel doesn't have the long delay, and
doesn't have the complaint about uhub4.
