Blender crash with -current

Hi there,

since three or four days, Blender ceased to work with the current 
kernel. The program crashes the kernel: the mouse freezes, and there is 
nothing else to do but to reboot the hard way (even the power button 
will not answer).

Could it be related to the latest changes with rwlocks, mutexes and so 
on? Anything to do to get (partly) relevent information?

PS: I have an old UP Pentium IV CPU...
