Is that pciide(4)-style?  I'm guessing no.

ahcisata(4) and my oh-i-hope-i-get-it-in-before-netbsd-5 siisata(4)
are some examples of non-pciide SATA controller drivers.

The ata(4) subsystem may need some work to be able to support NCQ
and Port Multipliers.
