I do like XDR :)

So on the proplib(3) binary format topic, there seems to be an effort
by Freza at implementing it:
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/misc/freza/

This doesn't use XDR for conversions, and I'm not sure if the format is
binary-compatible with Apple plists (perhaps this is not necessary
either, especially if their format is not optimal). I'm unsure where
to look for the Apple proplib binary format specification (if such
document or open code exists).
