True. Sorry for the lack of detail. This is on Fedora Linux 42.

$ bmake show-var VARNAME=_GCC_PKG
gcc-15
$ bmake show-var VARNAME=_GCC_PKG_MAJOR_MINOR
15
$ gcc --version | head -1
gcc (GCC) 15.2.1 20251211 (Red Hat 15.2.1-5)

Also, I see that the latest commit (1.306) fixed the problem. Thank you 
for the quick reaction!
