Hello

Thank you for this work. It will be useful, but I just have been burnt
by the change :-)

What is the planned ugrade path? Perviously I had pkgsrc-2024Q4 php-8.3.x
installed. When upgrading, /usr/pkg/bin/php moved to /usr/pkg/bin/php83
breaking scripts not handled by pkgsrc.

Of course I can upgrade the script or make a symlink from /usr/pkg/bin/php
to /usr/pkg/bin/php83, but I will have to do it again on php-8.4 update.
It would be nice if that could be done automatically.

Would it make sense to have the concept of default PHP version with
proper symlinks? Perhaps it already exists but I missed it.
