Re: llvm packaging status

is anyone working on the update of llvm to 16.x or 17.x? With 16.x we
had prior work of myself and 1 or 2 other people.

clang/llvm in pkgsrc is at 16.0.6. Not sure what you mean "the update
to 16.x".

Thanks, that's what I missed. I've been out of the loop for some time
and didn't catch that when I last looked at what others did.

I have the impresssion somebody was thinking about updating in late
November or early December and I told them that was too scary right
before branch. I continue to sort clang updates into "likely to cause
lossage" and thus needing PMC permission after 2/15 (says
/quarterly.html).

Of course, now it is mid January.

I see 17.0.6 in wip:

 commit 0f7511b19a4910d3cee36a108e99f56a30484ec3
 Author: Adam Ciarciński <aciarcinski%teonite.com@localhost>

     llvm: updated to 17.0.6
