Ok, here is an updated version which includes a WIP of the influxdb
package I am using as the example:

This implements the url:sha[:dir] syntax as suggested, as well as
tidying up some parts.  Most notably it adds a print-go-deps target
which will generate a list of GO_DEPS for you directly from the Godeps
file.

If this looks ok and I don't hear any objections then I'll add it once
I'm finished with the influxdb package.
