There are some programs that end up with duplicate libraries being
linked in, one from base and one version from pkgsrc. That happens even
more often if you build stuff yourself outside of pkgsrc.

My own reason for prefering base X is that I don't want to lose my X
session every 3 months when I update to the next stable pkgsrc branch.
X is and should be part of the operating system, not add-on packages.
