heimdal builtin busted?

Any wide heimdal experience here?
I needed to do the following to get Arch linux 3.14.79 heimdal to be found as a builtin..
> richard@omnis:/home/richard/src/pkgsrc/security/heimdal$ git diff .

This is for:
> richard@alarm:/home/richard$ uname -a
> Linux alarm 3.14.79-2-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Sep 19 18:59:55 MDT 2016 aarch64 GNU/Linux

> Kerberos 5 release 1.13.4

I notice on molari:
> -bash-4.3$ /usr/bin/krb5-config --version
> heimdal 1.5.3
