pbulk on low memory systems

Any suggestions about how to run pbulk on low memory systems? The largest 
memory sh3el system I have has 64 megs, and pbulk-scan uses much more:

22687 root      32    0   274M   29M RUN        0:55 34.78% 34.77% pbulk-scan

It fills 256 megs of swap and dies:

Any ideas?
